I interviewd my Japanese friend in Canada, Tetsuya. 1. Since you are a Japanese even though you live in Canada, do you or any of your family members believe in Shintoism? 2. If not why? And which religion do you believe in?3. How did religion affect your life in general?4. To what extent had your life been influenced?5. Excluding your religions, you must have some kind of connection to Confucianism as a belief of philosophy, right?6. How did Confucianism affect your life?7. What do you think of social hierarchy?8. What do you think the most important relationship is among the five major relationships in Confucianism?9. Are there any beliefs that you deny or exclusive toward?10. If there are, why? 1. I am Japanese as well as my family but we don't practice Shintoism. I have no idea what it's like.2. Well.... why? I don't really know, sorry. That wasn't what my parents believed in, I just followed them. Our family practices Christianity.3. Christianity had affected my life in many ways. For example, I go to church every sunday haha. Well, I don't really know. I haven't thought of it that seriously. I guess it's just so blended into my life that I can't really notice.4. Of course, I can tell that I am affected a lot by my religion, but I can't really notice. How I was affected exactly.5. Yeh that's true. Our family is so conservative with that and I can still feel that. 6. As I said, my family is really conservative, and me and my sister(Megumi! Do you remember her?) are not allowed to start eating at the table before parents. Also, we often go back to Japan to visit grand parents in such days like their birthdays.7. Social hierarchy..? I don't know, HAHA sorry. I think everyone should be treated equally.8. I think friend friend relationship is the most important one. I usually talk to my friends when I have some sort of concern. Also I'd like to spend my weekend with my friends rather than my family.9. I don't think I am exclusive to any religions or beliefs.10. I said it!
